Although HB68 was struck down as unconstitutional by a lower court, the law is currently in effect while it awaits hearing by the Ohio Supreme Court. The law faces significant challenges that will likely lead to its eventual reversal at the state or federal level.

Public K-12 school, colleges and Universities and private institutions receiving state funds must ensure only cisgender females participate in female sports.

Enforcement is brought through private civil action by individuals who believed they were harmed by a violation of the rules.

The scope of HB68 is wide. Parents/Guardians & minors themselves can't seek gender affirming care*. Healthcare providers are prohibited from administering care & face disciplinary actions including revoking their medical license.

*Those receiving care before the ban can continue their treatments
