Unfortunately most Mainers I’ve interacted with that supported him prior are supporting him even harder now. Most Mainers also have never interacted with a person of color though, and education here is abysmal so even the “Left” here is barely left of center.

I live in Maine, I vote here. His entire history screams MAGA, up until very, very recently. Nazi tattoo, tons of hate comments on reddit all the way up to 2022, not known in local communities, all of his “Leftist” policy are stereotypes and buzzwords. He’s a plant that will flip the second elected

Outside of his rallies every single known fact about Platner screams MAGA. Even his stances are all just random buzzwords to rile up liberals in Maine. The dude was using slurs just a few years ago. The best outcome is that 2 years ago he had an awakening and grew up, but he’s unfit for office.

I, and most other Mainers, had never heard of this dude prior to his announcement to run for office. He has no track record of working with his local communities, has never held another office, nada. He’s just some random dude with a Nazi tattoo, a bunch of slurs in his comments, and buzzword takes.

WE didn’t do anything yet, because our primaries aren’t even this year. Platner has numerous opponents in the primaries alone, and to date they don’t have Nazi tattoos or a consistent use of slurs as recent as a couple years ago. If he’s grown, I’m glad, but he’s horribly incompetent AT BEST.
