This album is such a pure masterpiece. It’s sophisticated in composition and in themes, it’s unthinkable that this record wasn’t an immediate hit, it wasn’t even a drop in the pond! It achieves so much despite budget restraint, one large enough to not leave behind a single outtake!

Alan McGee, owner of Creation Records, said in ‘88 that My Bloody Valentine were the Irish equivalent to Hüsker Dü which is a really interesting and puzzling statement. I really wonder what he listened to in order to come to that conclusion cuz it sure as hell wasn’t This is Your Bloody Valentine
