On November 20, we join communities around the world in observing the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). TDOR calls us to remember transgender and gender-diverse people whose lives have been lost to anti-trans violence.

I attended a funeral service today for a high school friend. It was very humbling hearing such lovely things about him. We were not close friends but respected one another. What I remember most was that while many judged me for being weird, loud and proud, he never did. He was a class act.
