I never consciously did that until a few years ago, I realized it helped me stay focused on the prose. But yeah as a younger person I would just silently scan the words. Sometimes now when the situation allows I like to read out loud, I find it help bring out the flavor of the text.

As a teen/young adult I would read two books simultaneously, one fiction and one non fiction, and would switch between the two when I got bored with the other 😂.

How would you say you read ? Like do you silently scan the words ? Or scan and say the words in your head as your read ?

So atm I’ve gotten back into reading prose, which is a real boon, there was a period where I struggled to read prose as I kept getting distracted/brain fog and etc. Is that a thing you dealt with too ?

Side tangent, do you read a lot of crime fiction ? Who are your favourites ?
