This shit sucks. On Friday, it will be three years since my mom passed away. On Saturday, I turn 34. I can't celebrate my birthday without also realizing I'll never hear her say "happy birthday" to me again. I'm doing something for my birthday. I just also know I'm going to fall apart.

September 5K done! I beat my P.R from last year by a lot. I'm incredibly proud of myself. I'm still training for the one on my birthday to hopefully beat this time. After this is the last one of the year/first one of next year on New Years Eve. That one starts at 12:00am.

Once my Pathfinder session is over today, we're going to do some fall çleaning and decorating. We haven't decorated for the holidays in a long time. Or even really had any holiday fun. This year, that needs to change. Grief doesn't get to take our happiness from us indefinitely.

I never thought, that with all I've been through, I would accomplish much. I was wrong. I have a degree, a steady job, excellent friends, and a phenomenal wife. It took effort to work through/around the PTSD and autisim, but I did. I'm proud of who I've become. Nothing can change that.

If you look perfect for the Higher Up, they don't see what issues need to be fixed, like the Higher Up denying a class their supplies for several years. But, they hired me and I'm nothing if not honest. When they ask why my shelves are mostly empty, my answer is simple: "You won't let me fill them."

Unfortunately, I know this answer. Red (her nickname) is a fem Roegadyn and has care taker vibes. People immediately assume she'll either mother them or is a dom. She's not interested in either, thank you. The one time those misconceptions collided was one time too many.

Hopefully, I can do part of the deep clean my classroom desperately needs during the "Professional Development" day we have tomorrow. I need to take inventory, scrub the shelves, etc. Then make a list of age appropriate toys/activities because being the neglected class means we have nothing. 🙃
