This annual is endemic to uncommon heavy clay soils in the southeastern San Joaquin Valley and foothills.

Despite major habitat destruction from residential development and invasive species, this tiny population in Fresno County is hanging on.

Visited the beautiful Ajo Mountains in Arizona a few weeks ago. Met the endemic Ajo Mountain Scrub Oak, among many other cool AZ native species 🤠
