Was in Dubai recently, and took this picture at the base of Burj and then from the top. Fascinating city and society.

I’ve always said people confuse their house with their home. Houses can be rebuilt—especially by wealthy people—but homes (even rich people’s) are irreplaceable. The comfort, the security…and the memories and artifacts of family bonding and growth. Devastating stuff, regardless of socioeconomics.
JJ Redick confirmed he and his family lost their home in the Pacific Palisades fire that began Tuesday.

“I was not prepared for what I saw. It’s complete devastation and destruction.”

Very well done by @mcuban.bsky.social. His blog focuses on overhead and transparency. That alone saves system so much. From tech side, we have the tools to identify those at most risk for disease so we spend our dollars on them disproportionately. In a cash pay world as he proposes, essential.

Having just come back from visiting India, this will not change unless large, ultra fast growing countries like India and China are all in on climate change. They’re effectively undergoing an Industrial Revolution with polluting cars, plastics/synthetics and mega factories across a vast user base.

Having grown up on the east coast of the US and dealing with this, here’s a pro tip: place a large garbage bag on your windshield before an ice storm and use the wipers to hold in place. Then, just life the garbage back away.
Frozen car windows are not what you want to see first thing in the morning, especially if you have to get behind the wheel

While there are countless methods for de-icing your car, it’s important drivers do so safely and without breaking any rules
Viral tip to defrost your car could land you a fine — how to do it properly
Drivers should be careful of trying this popular method.

Really proud of the MyOme team in introducing a new era in personalized healthcare: accurate risk assessment that integrates clinical factors and is validated across multiple ethnicities. Excited to be working with our friends at Natera in this.

Just like Steph Curry inspired a generation of shooters and changed the game, Caitlin Clark’s impact is already starting to take effect. While Juju was likely already on the path to greatness, the number of young girls in high school and below that will be great shooters is going to be fun!
JuJu Watkins made a school-record nine three-pointers and scored 40 points as No. 6 USC routed California Baptist last night.

It was Watkins' 16th game in her NCAA career with 30+ points. The only person with more 30-point games through their sophomore season?

Caitlin Clark.

According to a YouGov survey, 54% of Americans read at least one book in 2023. This means 46% did not. Meanwhile, 62% of US adults under 30 use TikTok, compared with 39% of those ages 30 to 49.

Conclusion: nobody is shocked by any of this.
The fact that we could have had an intelligent, kind, compassionate, well-read President, but instead, we're stuck with a man who actively supports banning books, will forever be heartbreaking to me. Half of this country failed the assignment. #BookSky

Congrats to my dear friend Neil Kumar, the entire $BBIO team and all the patients and their families that participated courageously in trials and that will benefit from life saving therapy.

As I steadfastly said: don’t ever bet against great teams and passionate people that want to help people.

Football should be played outdoors and all stadiums should have a retractable roof to make them usable for more than 8 days a year. These things are not mutually exclusive. People seem to think we have regressed technologically.

Mina Kimes nailed it. A difference in opinion and desire for thoughtful discussion should not be confused with overt hatred, racism, misogyny. It’s leading to a degradation of society and leads to the most vile echo chambers.
Harassment, racism, and engagement farming are not “a difference of opinion.”

Had a chance to talk about BlueSky on Pablo’s pod—and why the echo chamber argument mischaracterizes what’s actually going on.

If this can get done, it would be the most significant impact on healthcare in decades, matched maybe only by the affordable care act. Moving to a prevention incentivized model and leveraging the tools at our disposal is critical to our nation’s health.

Absolutely wild that Nvidia only spends 3% of revenue or $900M in SG&A. Apple is double at 6%.
