Re-reading Louise Penny's Chief Inspector Gamache series (all zillion of them) because there's a new book and I have to refresh my memory lol.

When I first read one of her novels at age 20 (I'm 58) I had zero clue that she was Black. It kind of makes her books even more awesome that I wasn't aware. She's awesome.

Talking to my Doomer son the other day and snorted because the dystopian fiction I used to love is totally Pollyanna-ish.

Had to laugh because I just bought my 4 dozen (yes, 4 dozen, I'm diabetic, I eat a lot of eggs) from my local farmer and almost dropped a carton. It was terrifying.

Also there's a fantastic and inexpensive b&b next to the fort if you can deal with cannon fire and Reville.

We haven't been in several years, but if you can get there go to the livery and (lie if you have to) rent a horse and buggy to wander the trails. I'm a horse gal but honestly those horses know exactly where they are going and you can just chill and enjoy the scenery.

There's a great one on Mackinac Island, I'd love to get baqck there this summer.
