There’s a ton of marketing noise in tech these days and the claims sometimes are just catastrophic.

“Integrate in a weekend”, “host in seconds” — while that might work in short term, long term repercussions are often later realised.

Bugs keep happening in software. And the frameworks and programming languages they are built on.

So countless updates are pushed around the world to keep continually fixing issues and improve perf.

It’s been over 2 years I uninstalled all social media app from my phone. I solely use these via browser and the bad experience makes it less tempting to reopen them and waste time.

You are not quitting cold turkey,
You are just rewiring your brain for a behaviour change. And it works!

Is it just me, or someone else also hate the huge influx of VC-funded "open-source" startups? They open-source their tech, but have a cloud offering to host it.

I feel in the long run this might hurt the open-source ecosystem, where people only enter it to exploit it for monetary gains.

Kamal by 37signals is an amazing tool for self hosting and streamlining any kind of app/service deployment.

It was hard to figure out at first, but I made it to the other side. And now I can’t imagine deploying anything without it. Highly recommended, will change the game for you.

Man what a treat to watch movies from the times when there were no smartphones. No social media.
