Halloween was interesting on a Friday. My husband Bob and I had SOAK, a time for reading God's Word on a specific subject and playing praise songs. We do this every Friday with our Church family. I love it. There is something special about resting in God's presence, the Word and Worship. I play piano, my husband Bob (also a Pastor) plays acoustic guitar.

Sometimes God wakes me up early. Well, lately lots of times. That or I wake up with back pain and have to go from the bed to the recliner. That has been an ongoing battle with me. But either way, it has become my time to read my Bible, pray, and listen to what the Lord has to say. Here is what He told me to pray for today:

I like to write. It helps me get all that stuff out of my head. It brings me peace. Recently I started using an AI program called Suno to help me write songs. You can see all the songs I have been doing for the last month by clicking on the Suno link. I think there are almost 50 so far, lol!

As a Worship Leader I have a front row seat to the congregation during Praise and Worship time. I also have the responsibility and honor of leading them into the Presence of God. Like Jehoshaphat we bow down before the Lord and worship Him, praising Him and giving thanks to the Lord for His loving kindness and mercy that endure forever.

This week I was blessed by two different women in our church. All I did was go and listen. I spent time with them as they shared their lives, hopes, dreams, and how God has made a difference in their lives. I was humbled. Sometimes I think I get lost in my own little world and forget how important it is to make time for others.

Take a moment. Breathe in, breathe out. Let God’s Spirit fill you with peace, and strength. You were born for such a time as this. God is with you. He is your strength and your song. He rejoices over you with singing! As a musician I occasionally enter contests with my songs. Imagine my surprise when SongwriterUniverse notified me that I won Song of the Month for August 2025! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus! The song I entered was "Rise Above It All". It was a remake of my 15 year old song "Stand". Just had to dust it off a bit and make it new.

Our Church, Janesville Apostolic Ministries gets together every Friday to SOAK in God’s presence. Tonight we shared verses on healing and sang praise music. What a blast! It was a Holy Ghost Party!
