Last weekend was a #ParksOnTheAir #SupportYourParks weekend, so I packed up my gear and headed out for some #POTA fun. I arrived at my chosen park around 15:30Z, and logged my first contact at 15:59Z. Ten hours later, I had 636 contacts in the log, there was no light, and I had to pack up in dark.
Looking east along a two-lane highway. It is nighttime and there are no street lights. In the foreground is the ham pod. I headed out to a park yesterday for a little #ParksOnTheAir.
I got to the park around 15:00Z, and hunted my first park at 15:28Z.
Three-and-a-half hours later, I had 185 contacts in the log and it was time to pack up.

There were quite a few Italy stations on, but none of them could hear me.
There was an operator in a park in the Cayman Islands, too, but I couldn't get through to him, either.
The sun was starting to get aggressive, so I opted to cut my losses and pack up.

In the grass on the near side of the trail is the grey ham pod. The sky has quite a few wispy clouds, but otherwise appears blue. There are some farm buildings in the distance.

I had some free time today, so I headed out to a State Trail for some #ParksOnTheAir goodness.
I arrived around 17:00z, and hunted my first park by 17:26.
The bands were not great; after a little over three hours, I had only 74 contacts in the log.

I had a scheduled maintenance window at work Friday evening, so I knocked off early Friday afternoon and headed to a park for some #ParksOnTheAir.
I got there around 20:30Z, and hunted my first park by 20:57.
I happened to be there when midnight UTC hit, so I was rewarded with a fresh pileup.

This weekend is a #ParksOnTheAir #SupportYourParks weekend, so I packed up my gear and headed out to the same park I've been to four times before, to see if I could perhaps earn a kilo at this park. I got there around 16:30Z, and hunted my first park at 17:08Z.

Six hours later, I had 260 contacts in the log, I was chilled, and I was losing light.
I managed to extricate my wire antenna from the trees, packed up, and headed home.

I got there around 16:45Z, got set up, and hunted my first park-to-park by 17:23Z.
Five hours later, I had 330 contacts in the log, and it was time to pack up.
I tried out my propane heater for the first time today.
I had purchased it last winter, but never bothered to break it out until today.

This weekend is a #ParksOnTheAir #SupportYourParks weekend, so, despite the 20°F (-7°C) with wind chill down to 0°F (-18°C), I headed out to a park.
I decided I'd work on getting a new Kilo, so I went to the same park I activated on December 29th.
