I don’t mean to imply that was your conclusion. I guess what I was saying is that if we follow MMT the $ would lose reserve curr status and we’d get massive inflation. Not saying I’m right, just how I’d see it going.

The interest expense is use actually paying the coupons on UST. Is we stop paying that who’s going to buy our debt? The Fed is going to buy 100% of our treasuries?

This implies there is a single right answer and it is predicated on what works “best”. Equally valid perspectives don’t compute. Obviously, this is a very surface analysis. Humanities emphasizes different perspectives and that sometimes there it no “best” answer for everyone. Anyways, my $.02.

So I’m degreed in Biochem, biophysics and Pharm. I think the lack of humanities biases thinking towards a more mechanistic view of the world. A bridge either falls or doesn’t. A patient dies, or doesn’t.
