Americans in general. And this is not just about her, but to encourage others to take steps in the right direction.

Yes. But we do need to encourage any steps in the right direction by anyone. Because we want them to take those steps. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be wary.

I lived in Germany decades ago. I remember the hardest part about Thanksgiving was getting a turkey. We got one, but it was a scrawny thing. Not sure if it was still being fattened up for Christmas or what. Also could only get grayish sweet potatoes from a Chinese store. Still tasty though. Enjoy!
