President #Nawrocki of #Poland has canceled his meeting with Hungary’s #Orbán after the latter’s Moscow visit. Nawrocki will now attend only the V4 summit in Esztergom, focusing on security and cooperation with Czech, Slovak, and Hungarian presidents. So not even Poland and Hungary are pals anymore?

#Putin said the very same thing, multiple times, about Ukraine. The last time he said it was on January 28th 2022, less than a month before he unleashed his brutal war OF CHOICE. If the European political establishment still believes him after all of this,we kind of deserve to be attacked, tbh.

BREAKING: The prospective PM of #Czechia Andrej #Babis has nominated Filip #Turek to be Environment Minister, instead of Foreign Minister. #Czech President #Pavel is still opposed to the nomination. This follows Turek's hateful and openly neo-Nazi comments in the past, uncovered by the media.

80 years ago today, Czechoslovakia lost its eastern-most territory, the so-called Sub-Carpathian Ruthenia, to the USSR. This was the result of immense pressure from Stalin, including staged "referenda" on the territory. As you can see, Kremlin tactics don't really change that much.

Polish ambassador to #Russia Krzysztof Krajewski was attacked in St. Petersburg by activists shouting anti‑Polish and anti‑Ukrainian slogans. Polish guards intervened, preventing injury. #Warsaw lodged a protest, calling it the most serious incident in years. Czech FM Lipavský condemned the attack.

In a despicable, yet not surprising move, #Czechia's new Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, far-right leader Tomio #Okamura, currently charged with racism, had had the flag of #Ukraine taken off the building of the Chamber. The flag had been there since the start of Russia's full scale invasion.

A court in #Slovakia has sentenced Juraj C., who shot PM Robert Fico five times in 2024, to 21 years in prison. He was convicted of a terrorist attack, not just assault on an official. The 72‑year‑old admitted the act but showed no remorse. The verdict can still be appealed to the Supreme Court.

12/x: Counting nearly over in the #Czech #election. The results are clear: #ANO of former PM #Babiš dominates. A populist government of ANO, supported by the right-wing extremist #SPD and the Eurosceptic, anti-green newcomer #Motorists seems like the most likely govt. More details in a video soon!

11/x: With nearly 95% of votes counted, the results of the #Czech #election are pretty much a done deal. #ANO has dominated the election with over 35%. The #SPOLU coalition came in second with over 22%. While Babiš is a clear winner, putting a workable coalition together may prove difficult.

For the third time since the start of Russia's illegal war, Slovak PM Fico met Russian dictator Putin. Putin praised Slovakia for "independent diplomacy" and said "Russia has never been opposed to Ukraine's EU membership". I guess that's right, as long as Ukraine is led by a puppet govt Putin likes.
