You make some compelling points that I generally agree with but I also think you’ve taken Erin’s arguments to a place she doesn’t with your photo example. I didn’t read in her bulleted list of uses a comparable case to that.

My mom came to visit and was telling out 13yo about it. I was just filling his stocking and saw that I bought it for him on a whim and forgot about it. Looking forward to playing it.

My concern with this position is students who need accommodations to effectively learn and be evaluated on course content. With ADA only guaranteeing Access, it seems the customer model would encourage accommodating students who need it. Am open to alternatives.

This makes me feel seen. Cus, same. Especially with parenting. Know what homework is due? No idea. Kid bleeding from smashing his face into an end table? All over it.

Preach! We almost hired an actual consultant to help us fight for the correct accommodations for both our kids. The idea that accomodations are being handed out like candy is asinine

While anecdotal, my experience is that this is complete bullshit. My kid is a disabled HS sophomore and the drumbeat from every college disability office so far is “we only need to provide accommodations that allow you to access the class. The professors won’t make any other changes.”
