For those who don't know, very related and near to Walhalla is the Befreiungshalle, similarly weird.

I went to uni in Regensburg. The stairs of the Walhalla was (is) a nice place for lots of students to enjoy some rays of sunlight. It is quite weird how it sits there in the Bavarian countryside, though. You hike up some hills, see some typical Bavarian churches and then run into this monstrosity.
