The often use of "dog/pet and master" in the story portrays the gruesome consequences on abuse of power. The Donwell family proves it by mentally and physically tormenting Jerome, Simon, George, Christopher, Raymond and many more names.

Baek Nara explore the cruelty of power through the eyes of Raymond. I'm aware of the setting and characterization in this novel are entirely fictional but it leaves you thinking of the fact that it's not far from reality.

• The <Club> Arc •

I only want Raymond to cut off his strings from his past and live his present life at peace; that's the best revenge he can have. But I respect his choices and decisions.

But there's more to his birth and his entanglement to the boys—Jerome, Hugh, George, and Simon. I thought of taking a shortcut to reach the end of his suffering but I can't risk the chance of fully understanding the depth of the MC's character. It takes a rough road to get to his chosen destination

• Lavenham/ Campsite Arc •

At first I thought Raymond's life in the beginning was simple, and he's just another case of an unwanted child. Abandoned, he went to a school of high-class people like him and got trapped by the sociopathic people.

It weaves thought-provoking themes and characters, and it has hooked me despite initial reservations and evoked strong emotions and investment.

• Bluebell Arc •

I can attest that Baek Nara's writing style is unparalleled to other stories with similar themes as Bad Life. Raymond Goodman, as the main character, makes you feel like he's guiding you through, which is a testament to her skill.
