Ok…. So physicians are to go broke by offering their services for free? So, I should buy all of the medications I give during an average general anesthetic myself and give them away without expectation of even basic reimbursement? Good plan. 🙄

Except physicians are not billionaires. And medical staff payments account for 8% of all US health care charges. But yeah. Blame the ones who are actually providing the care.

Paramedics can be life savers….. but then they drop the patients off at a hospital where real doctors actually fix the patients up. I’ve had some excellent trainers, none of them claimed to be life savers. Enjoy your delusions of grandeur. ✌🏻👩‍⚖️👩‍⚖️

Uh huh. OK. Next time you have surgery, ask your athletic trainer to do your anesthetic. Should be easy for you then. You’re out of your league, Donny.

All those other countries offer free or incredibly subsidized medical education. If anything, I am underpaid compared to the investment I made in my education. And you didn’t answer any of my questions.

What do you do? What do you make? How many hours a week do you work? Do people’s lives literally depend on your skills and training? If not then STFU and stop talking about things you know nothing about.

I work nights, weekends, and holidays, with no extra pay. I miss my kids’ events, my friends’ weddings, my family’s funerals. I literally save lives and keep people from dying every day I go to work.

Also, I sacrificed 10 years of my life, going into $100K worth of debt for 6 years of med school, then earning <$30K per year for 4 years during residency. Know why they call it residency? Because you live at the hospital working 80 hour weeks, doing up to 30 hour shifts.

When you break it down, I make about $150/hour for the hours I work. My job is keeping people like you alive during surgery. What’s that worth to you? Still think I’m overpaid?

Your comment is absurd and demonstrates that you have no idea how anesthesiologists take care of patients nor how they are actually reimbursed. Have your next surgery without it and see how that goes for you. From, an actual anesthesiologist.
