That’s quite the forecast…
A new pipeline crossing BC raises a lot of red flags for communities that rely on healthy land, water, and outdoor recreation.

There's a lot of instability in the mix... if you know what I mean.

We spent (almost) 2 days in Canmore with our ambassadors digging into our strategy, wildfires, renewable energy, & how to tell better climate stories.

So grateful for this group, the work hits different when we’re together. Thanks to all our speakers & our partners for helping bring this to life.

We’ve climbed a lot of mountains together… metaphorically speaking. As a small remote team scattered across 🇨🇦, meeting IRL is a rare sight.

Last week in Banff, we got together, touched some trees, reviewed the year, and planned the final push to 2026.

Feeling pretty stoked about what’s ahead.

Because budgets decide the future and we’re making sure that the future includes winter.

Canada has already lost 7M+ hectares to fire this summer, like burning every Rocky Mountain national park twice. The problem isn’t evidence, it’s fear of solutions. But solutions are how we keep our air clean, summers enjoyable & wild places intact. Help us tell MPs: it’s time to act.

Canada’s air quality is trending… and not in a good way
Last weekend, we had some of the worst air quality in the world for the second time this summer. This isn’t just wildfire season, it’s a smoke signal. Our health and wild places are at risk.

Those damn ski bums who just want to enjoy the outdoors and make sure future generations can too 😤

Wasaga Beach for sale?!
This iconic shoreline could go from campfires and sunsets to construction zones and resort fences.

Act now. Submit your comment by August 11 and tell Ontario: Our provincial parks aren’t for sale.

NIMBY only works if there’s still a backyard…

This is why POW Canada Athletes, Haley Daniels, Sandy Ward, Marion Thénault & Nat Knowles are holding burnt postcards headed straight to federal ministers.

Sign our letter calling on the government to help us protect the parks and places we all love.

"[...]summer months are the best time of the year to spend time outdoors recreating, enjoying time with family, and creating new memories, but this wildfire smoke makes it difficult to do all those things"

They’re so close to seeing what we see…😪

AI can do a lot these days… but should it be your trail guide?
With AllTrails recently launching a new AI feature, Search and Rescue teams are concerned people relying on AI-generated routes could be led into dangerous terrain or false terrain.

What is the place of AI in the outdoors, if any?

It’s giving: “I know smoking is bad, but I’ll quit next year.”
Alberta’s new record is not one to celebrate if you like clean air, water and land.

We’ll keep pushing for the policies that matter.
You keep biking, hiking, paddling, and we keep reminding MPs to go touch some grass and that the outdoors isn’t just nice to have. It’s who we are.

50% of 🇨🇦 carbon pollution is in the control of municipal governments. Not billionaires or your friend that went to Japow (we know-we’re jealous too).
You can influence your city or town.

Climate change is here. Policy is the plan. People are the power.

"How sad to think that nature speaks and mankind doesn't listen." Victor Hugo, 1840

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the wildfire in Manitoba and the glacier collapse in Blatten, Switzerland.

A full circle moment…
Back in Fall 2024, we met with Julie Dabrusin to present our Outdoor Recreation Economic report. Today, she steps into the role of Minister of Environment and Climate Change. We’re excited to keep building on that conversation.

New cabinet, same mission.
