At the risk of sounding melodramatic, these newspapers were some of the high points of our civilization. I have learned so much from The Observer.
This is it, in a nutshell. US media orgs are obeying in advance (@timothysnyder.bsky.social). And UK ones are acting as useful idiots to some of the worst companies on the planet
Perturbing article by @carolecadwalla.bsky.social on the opaque new ownership of the Observer. At a time when US newspaper owners kowtow to Trump, it's worrying to see a quality UK paper flog itself off for no discernable reason.
