Broke, nerdy musician.
"You Won't See Me" My dad had an old book with the chords for every Beatles song and it was the first song I learned to play on my Yamaha PSR that was more than just C, G, F, Am. I loaned the book to someone and lost touch with them and never got it back. Maybe I'll try to track down an old copy

Part of the fun of buying a cheap flea market Squier Strat and having a 3D printer, is being able to modify it at a low cost without worrying about destroying the value. Made these knobs to match the pickguard. Trying to decide if I want to do the pickup covers too, maybe matching their tone knob

Gave the valve trombone I picked up the other day a good bath, and was able to locate the source of the sticky valve that forced the previous owner to sell it and fixed the issue. Also cleaned my grandfather's 1928 trumpet while I had the valve oil and slide grease out

Had an itch, so I found this 2000 Ibanez SA-160. Bought it strictly because I didn't have a purple guitar yet and it was cheap. Love the tonal options and feel! It always impresses me how high quality even lower price point Ibanez product is!

I made this USB patchbay 6 years ago thinking I'd probably never actually use it, but it's very convenient when I do need it

When I built my computer I put 13 USB ports in it. I also built this USB patchbay thinking I'd never need it. I'm glad I did, because I started using it this week

I found this zither the other day, which finally gives me an instrument representing every letter of the alphabet. I don't think it had been tuned in decades. It took awhile for it to settle into the tension, but it doesn't sound half bad

Rescued this beautiful Wurlitzer 4300DR organ from the back of a custodial closet the other day. 56 years old and everything still works great!
(For the questions all the organ and guitar amp nerds are wondering: Yes it has a working leslie. No tubes, it's right after they switched to solid-state)

I picked up this wonderfully cheesy guitar for $70 but it can only play songs by LA Guns, BulletBoys, 38 Special, Remingtons, Guns N Roses, Shooter Jennings, & Bob Seger (& the Silver Bullet Band)
The guy asked if I wanted to play it before buying. I said "no one is buying this guitar for the sound"

Google's AI is absolutely horrible. I'm trying to get information on an organ I've been given, and it claims it's a jukebox while showing a picture of an electric piano. With incorrect AI infor at the top half of the page, usually irrelevant paid results the 2nd half, the first page is worthless

The old 80s Japanese Alex banjo is finally restored and put back together. Doesn't sound bad for a budget starter banjo 🪕

Been working on the 80s Japanese banjo my friend gave me. New head put on and finally found and ordered a nut for it. When it comes, I can put it and the new bridge on, adjust it, and reinstall the back. It's a lot lighter than my Epiphone and Ibanez, so I'm curious to hear how it sounds and plays

Went to one of my colleague's offices to help them with a project and came back with a Thinline Telecaster. That's the third time I've gone to help someone at another office and came back with a guitar. Luckily i got it for a good price and I'm really enjoying it!

Finally picked up the last mariachi instrument I needed the other day, a guitarron so that part of my collection is finished. Still surprised just how massive this is and not sure where to put it in the studio (next to a banjo for reference)

Went to use the bathroom at a gas station on a road trip and was expecting Jigsaw to drug me and chain me to something

I'm making very slow progress on my banjo mystery. Elderly sells an 11 1/8" head, so I'm assuming that's the correct size. Next, trying to find a nut, it's very narrow, same width as my 50s Silvertone banjo. Here are some more pics if any #banjosky sleuths have any ideas of what it is

Hey #banjosky I need some help. I'm working on a mystery Japanese banjo. I ordered a standard 11" head and it's too small (see pic for the difference when flush on the side). Any ideas what size it might be and where to find one? Also, I'd be curious if anyone has any idea what I'm dealing with here

I've gotten a haircut and come back with a ukulele. I've gone to a car show and come back with an accordion. A funeral and come back with an oboe. A haircut and come back with a guitar (same barber, different haircut). Today, had lunch with a friend and he gave me two banjos. Here's the nicer one

Played my very first electric guitar tonight, an old Kramer Focus flying V with a real Floyd Rose (not a "lic. by"). I've always had the trem decked, but decided to float it tonight. It always brings back so many memories when I play it. So glad I kept it all these years!

Tonight I played bass for a while then switched to my Danelectro U2 that my barber found in their dumpster and gave me. I'm 98% sure it's a reissue, but there's no markings and the yellowing of the tuners makes me wonder. Who knows how much sun exposure it got in its past. Either way it plays great!

"AI" is not an autonomous self aware program. It's a giant Excel spreadsheet that sorts information and compiles the most common results into one answer, so in other words Garbage In, Garbage Out

For the record Standing On The Shoulders Of Kitties is a real movie and does have a post credits scene
