its not literally a slower process, but i'm definitely susceptible to any degree of chat/audience interactions feeling like a slog to watch

i desperately want some kind of escape from watching my dogs health decline but anything i do comes with soul crushing guilt and the idea that nothing i enjoy justifies doing it instead, i even get this feeling with my job and its making me want to bash my head against concrete

Do I have bad or annoying tastes? i enjoy bayo 3 but it really feels like like any reason i would give cant really justify it so when i play it it it feels like im just wasting peoples time instead of being useful. this feeling has been permeating into everything i do i do and it feels maddening

dark ages is my personal pick just cause i love the gameplay and am having a hard time getting engaged with e33 but it seems like the shoe in for the actual awards which is great

i really think the biggest reason is that eternal came out in the same month that the covid lockdown started in the US, it was perfect timing for millions of people to suddenly have a ton of freetime and that werent yet hit by economic struggles

nothing against you for it, but its still a bummer when the response to criticisms of a thing is met with stuff like "Well only people who love the games and sunk 100s of hours into them care about that so it doesnt matter" especially against someone whos done a ton for the community like hitchhiker

Im always gonna hold up 3 as the best written thing ive seen in the genre, mainly for how the character arcs, pacing, gameplay progression and themes all complement and support each other perfectly in my eyes, it turns a by the books hero's journey into something much more impactful and interesting

idk how much you count them as indie and/or 'AA' devs but the New Blood leads like Hakita, the Szymanskis, Dave Oshry and Dillon Rogers among them definitely have gained that kind of recognition amongst retro shooter communities. theres also guys like Suda51 and Swery, older but not quite oldschool

im hoping itll have gamemodes other than extraction like deathmatch or ctf, but man what i really really am wanting for is a singleplayer campaign
