Found as a stray along with another dog, she was brought to the New York Animal Care centers where she as her write up stated, she had a "Sterling Resume".

She found the shelter very overwhelming and needed to get out. A couple saw her and knew they had to help.

Welcome to Pound Hounds ResQ.

This middle aged woman was found as a stray brought to the NYCACC only to be returned because she nipped.
She returned to the shelter hoping to find her angel & boy did she. Our own SUMMA girl saw her & knew this lady didn't belong there with no family.

She's now a #PoundHounder and headed to ME.

This guy is another victim of moving. I understand when one moves you don't want to take everything to the new house, but a family member?
So off he went to the NYCACC to fend for himself.
You do not leave family members behind.
Welcome to #PoundHounds. He's going to be a #jerseyboy

She also does well with other dogs.

Have a wonderful life SHIMMER!

Guess who is #adopted! Chicken Little!

She was first a stray at the NYCACC & then adopted out & returned. GIVE A GIRL A CHANCE.

We were able to save her from the shelter and place her in an AMAZING FOSTER.

She is now going to her forever home.

BABE 223807
It seems no one even knew he was there. Babe was brought to the NYCACC not making eye contact, being avoidant & basically tried to make himself invisible. He was RESCUE ONLY and the guy that found him decided he wanted to foster him & he went through us to save him
Another one saved.

Kala was found at an apt building in the Bronx. The neighbor across the street also saw Kala. She was scared and frightened and then brought to the NYCACC where she continued to deteriorate.
Those neighbors who appeared on the scene, are now here new fosters.

Welcome to Pound Hounds ResQ Kala!

Look at this tall, dark and handsome DUDE! Itsy Bitsy. Ok we know that name doesn't fit, but this guy who had a stint in the NYCACC & was TERRIFIED & now he is #outtathestinkinshelter.
He needed someone w/breed exp, a place where he can successfully decompress & learn how to trust again.
April 15, 2025 at 7:57 PM
Shadow is #outtathestinkinshelter and is proudly showing his new toys.
As soon as he was dropped off, he found some balls in the yard and claimed them as his own.
In these photos, he actually seems to be smiling here and has a very relaxed look about him.
Welcome to the rest of your life Shadow!

Desdemona came to us via the NYCACC. She was found as a stray. She was NOT a happy camper there. She did everything a dog is NOT supposed to try to get out. Baring teeth, growling, avoidant, which landed her the 'Rescue Only' label.
1 of our fosters is showing her what us humans are capable of.
April 13, 2025 at 10:25 PM
We totally manifested this!
Blanco is a #PoundHounder
This guy is so easy on the eyes, it is so easy to fall for his charm as did his volunteers.
Welcome to Pound Hounds ResQ!

We just saved this guy. He had to be tranquiized by the police & brought to the NYCACC. GSD do not do well in the shelter. Their behavior is not indicitive of who they are. This guy needs an experience GSD person and he got it. Someone with 20 years experience with GSD just stepped up to save him.
April 11, 2025 at 10:46 PM
Here he is-Luscious!

This young guy is just 1 yo was found as a stray &bro ught to the NYCACC. Talk about being stressed? OH BOY, he was found chewing on the walls. Despite this, he was social & became a shelter fave.
His foster dad is eager to show him some lessons on being the best dog he can be.
April 10, 2025 at 11:00 PM
Another day another stray. That seems to be the mantra.
This girl was found & brought to the NYCACC. She wasn't doing well & her time was up.
This is the same for almost every dog it seems.
We are grateful that a woman came to her rescue. She'll be #outtathestinkinshelter next week.
April 5, 2025 at 9:51 PM
Look who is #outtathestinkinshelter and doing positively WONDERFUL Pretzel Bite.

PB was found tied up & abandoned in the park. The Park Rangers found her and brought her to the NYCACC.

Our new foster didn't hesitate to fill out the foster application and save her life.

We are grateful.

The guy with a million dollar smile is now safe with us - Pound Hounds ResQ.

He was a stray, then stayed with his founder and then almost euthanized.

This guy caught a lucky break and it's NOT April Fools.
April 1, 2025 at 7:28 PM
How is this even remotely comfortable?
April 1, 2025 at 5:35 PM
They say when you manifest ides & put them out in the universe, the universe listens.
The Staten Island NYCACC reached out to us asking us to save this guy. He had such great owner surrender notes but he was rapidly declining & therefore became rescue only.
We put it out there! Welcome to PHR
