In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services.

Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt.
While Norway still owns everything and has the equivilant per person of £10tn.

That's how privatisation 'works'.

Agreed. This is a very interesting development. Suggests something happening in the soul of British conservatism, rather than simply the brain.
Potentially more significant than the defections by fringe politicians. Founder of ConHome, quite a significant voice in Conservative circles.
