do NOT fall into a trap of complacency because “transphobia doesn’t win elections” — because the moment it does, or the moment they win on something else, you’re going to find out that the transphobia was never *about* winning elections
because the ideological core hates us. there are opportunists who will use the issue if it benefits them, sure, and they’ll drop it if it doesn’t — but the siege on trans people isn’t simple opportunism now, if it ever even was. they want us gone.
Despite the right wings failures to win elections on transphobia specifically, they remain absolutely dedicated to annihilating us as a party.
This is a major party well positioned to win despite itself in the upcoming year's platform.
