Never escaping "vampire" allegations

Lover of vintage computers, game consoles, and old technology in general.
I also did a SNES shell that was in a smoker's household about 30 years ago
I suppose the peroxide has degraded considerably but either way it's a LOT better than the previous color

Be sure to treat your elderly machines' flesh with a nice hot soapy bath

You never know if their grandkids will spare you or not when they take over in the future

I am once again reminded that my state is turning into a complete hellhole

No one should be denied treatment, ever. The hippocratic oath is a thing *because* of stuff like this. If you're wanting to refuse people care because of your beliefs you're in the entirely wrong profession

There's a reason I clean and refurbish every controller that comes into my possession

Yuck

Had to get a replacement due to an unfortunate case of "falling from a high place and shattering like a Ming Dynasty Vase" but I guess it worked out since this one is in much better condition anyhow. Even came with the Styrofoam and original leads

Serviced and repaired the bandsaw I got last year
Now it's a lovely working piece of machinery
March 7, 2025 at 1:50 AM
Repainted, the spindle was straightened out, all new bearings
Everything de-rusted

Cool, now I have a very competent drill press

I've got to ask,
The Portable Sub-Terminal is *totally* based on the Osborne-1 or Osborne Executive, right?
February 21, 2025 at 4:16 AM
It was genuinely everything I expected it to be, and then some!

I've been practically stalking a release date since the original announcement, and I am very pleased with it

Bonus: if you've got one, play it on a CRT, you won't regret it

Needs some capacitors and a new horizontal positioning knob
What a beautiful machine

Ended up splitting an old Brass ended fuse, hammering it flat, cutting a strip out, bending it in a vise, and then fitting it into the slot. Ended up soldering in a wire extension since the old end was corroded beyond use. Bam, new tab
December 24, 2024 at 9:51 AM
Beautiful piece
Only issue is that I absolutely need to replace a contact because I have never, ever seen a battery corrode this badly

Finally
Organized
Very happy with this

New power supply arrived earlier
Need to adjust the dial, but, it's only off by about 1.5 volts
Works lovely otherwise

I kind of wish I knew the labels I ordered would be INDIVIDUAL letters, but oh well. They at least look nice

Did some fun science the other day and produced some Nickel Acetate and Copper Acetate for future electroplating endeavors

I will never financially recover from this
