I agree, I prefer healthy couples and having an interesting plot come from other genres instead. I feel like its rarer in yuri to have another genre aside from romance.

I think it's because there's a lot more choices that don't involve harem around a guy. They are a nice couple, just kind of unfortunate what kind of show they were in.

Yea they're games, they're visual novels which is a narrative heavy game. Some of them are choose your own adventure types of things where you make a choice and it changes the outcome.
