as i like the games. especially feels so when it's anything related to 5 and 6, as too many people just try and essentially deny anything from those two games are good just because it didn't build up from 4 the way they wanted

but also, I've saw a few cases of people basically getting harassed for going against the mainstream fandom wave. i swear too many supposed fans don't even like AA but just want to act above someone else, and if it must be real fans, so be it

really good description there. i have seen a few new players who basically experienced what you said, and even some that were surprised because there was something in the game they thougt would be much worse because of what annoying pseudofans were telling them

also helps that the Asian side of the fandom seems more active with non-mainstream ships, but even on western made ship content, it feels way more positive to find for example OdoNaru or YugaKoko stuff

also, a bit off the point but can't help wonder if that somehow made me enjoy more less mainstream ships. i sadly joined just as the mainstream western fandom was bad, and seeing stuff for less popular ships like OdoNaru was one of the windows of joy in a miserable fandom space

i'm not even just if it can even be called a fanbase anyone when again, it doesn't even seem to enjoy the games they're supposedly fans of to keep bickering with other fans who enjoy the games but happen to enjoy something they don't

bloody awful how nosy too much of the western fanbase gets. i feel like sooner or later it might just atomize itself because of that. this attitude of refusing to interact what they see as less than perfect will only keep it getting more and more bitter with itself i'd say

not just the awful treatment of Yamazaki, but they even act like they're above Shu Takemi. feels suffocating, and downright toxic sometimes. it's why i mostly stopped interacting with fandom (besides here. here seems to be calm enough that it can be alright) besides some artists and fanfic writers

and without rambling too much, i feel like most of the western fandom right now barely even seems to like the series. not to act like it's bad to throw criticisms, but now it's so full of supposed fans who can't stop criticizing things to the point where they act like know more than the directors
