YouTube is like old over-the-air TV, but with a fast forward and rewind button. Bluesky feels like a wholesome but dull bulletin board. This porridge is too ... something!

Before dismissing Voight’s proposal, read VFX Soldier. It’s grounded in research on foreign film subsidies and their impact on the U.S. VFX industry.

Read VFX Soldier. Jon Voight's proposal is based on this guy’s research/blog.

Kara, I listened to your latest Pivot. You might be overreacting and taking the enragement = engagement bait. I work in VFX post, where key jobs like roto, match move, animation, and comp are outsourced to India. “Tariffs” is nonsense. This likely means tax credits, as Newsom hints.

Yes yes I hate Trump but Jesus, y’all need to see the woods from the trees. The knee-jerk anti-right takes on Bluesky are exhausting. As someone in VFX, if tax credits keep work from being undercut overseas, this could actually be a good thing.

If the volume of work that's produced gets tighter BUT all the outsourcing got reigned in to be done in North America that's good for VFX workers in America. Execs will never admit that! The amount of post production work that goes to India is staggering.

I’m a VFX worker in post. If this forces Hollywood to stop outsourcing, especially to India, good.

I can't wait for the new and improved version with thicker legs!
