They put Marsinah (a labor activist murdered in New Order) next to the very person who drove workers of this country to the bottom of hell.

Alas, this book accompanied me today. “My family settled in a place that was not made for them, but they called it home. How is that for a metaphor of Black life in America?” ; “On the revolutionary side, [blue] was a color of Black self-adornment in the face of disregard.”

I’m a simple duck. I see a book critiquing Paul Gauguin & the (ab)use of Brown & Black womxn’s pain & corporeality in Western/colonial art “cannons,” I read it. @mailbykite.bsky.social
writes many things that make me feel okay to always mambuduik against this world.

Happy birthday to my most favorite philosopher, Gillian Rose. Thanks for making me realize that I’m capable of falling in love with someone over a good & challenging writing.

Prendjak tea, homemade kue lapis plum, & Gillian Rose’s “Love’s Work.” A remedy in a very physically challenging day. ”You may be weaker than the world, but you’re stronger than yourself.” ♥️

21 years ago, the government of Indonesia murdered Munir, Indonesia’s prominent human rights activist. He was a fierce critic of the Army’s rampant abuse in Aceh & East Timor. Baik-baik, orang baik.

TransJakarta & MRT resume their operation today & will be free for a whole week. Enjoying Mapmatics @ a bus trip home today. Carto-mathematically exploring how to measure the earth, distance to Mecca, & why racist school policies spatially wouldn’t work

Transjakarta & MRT halt their operation today. I literally just arrived at the bus stop.

Winarta adalah karakter yang lahir dari eksperimen m-preg gagal dari Raskolnikov & Pechorin. Superflous man trope nanggung tanpa alkohol. Duel diganti jadi semangat membunuh ala fasis dg kedangkalan nihilisme anak mama Senopati. 9/10. (tapi agak berlebihan kalau bilang penulisnya setara Pram).

Went to Central Jakarta today. I forgot it’s independence day. Too many people were failed by bad infrastructure & so noisy because of air shows. But the train is only Rp 80 (US$ 0.005) until tomorrow 🤓 and ofc: some me time @ Ragusa (another bad decision, it’s behind the Army Command Center!)

Weekend commute reading: my best friend’s poetry book, “My Dream Job” by Norman Pasaribu. Honored to see his craftmanship so intimately for this book. Thank you for my name in the acknowledgment, Norman. I love you stupidly.
