LNG shipped from the US, Qatar or Canada will always cost more: you make countries compete for the same gas.
Building EU renewable sovereign #energy security is the smarter option.
👉 The question is not how.
The question is: are we ready? [6/6]

The outlook on fossil fuels looks “depressing” but not because tech isn’t ready, but because geopolitics pushed climate down the priority list. The recent US fossil U-turn matters here (and yes, the US is a country that significantly funds the IEA).

All of the above is feasible. What we need is political will:

✅ an ECB stance that favours clean investments

✅ EU fiscal rules that reward green infrastructure

✅ EIB support to leverage private capital

🇪🇺 Europe can still choose the ambitious path.

We can:

💡use public and private finance to scale

💡modernise our grids

💡speed up permits for wind & solar

💡support EU batteries & storage

Once you look at where demand is growing and at cost of renewables:
⚡ Electricity is exploding mainly bc of AI&data centres in the US, EU and China (on top of EVs)
☀️ Renewables can cover most of this demand

🏡 In the Net Zero pathway household bills actually go down So why aren’t we going all in?

That is why the digital euro should have lower or no cap at all and must be more than a payment app! #digitaleuro

Simply a private European payment system would always be vulnerable to a foreign sale (like Visa Europe to Visa US).

We need to remember what makes money, money: it's not just a way to exchange, but also a unit of account (so a way to measure value) and a store of value (so a way to save your wealth).

4/ The #digitaleuro file in the EU Parliament is heating up 🔥. A draft report is due soon, and we’ll keep an eye on it! Meanwhile the US is pushing stablecoins, lowering US borrowing costs & extending dollar influence.

3/ With 99% of stablecoins tied to the US $, Europe risks "digital dollarisation." The debate over the Digital Euro vs. private stablecoins is not about tech, it's about who controls Europe's financial future: the @ecb.europa.eu 🇪🇺 or US tech giants 🇺🇸?

2/ Stablecoins are private assets backed mostly by the USD, NOT public money. The digital euro offers a public guarantee . When SVB failed in 2023, even leading stablecoins "broke the peg" & needed a bailout instead.

- Make energy investments cheaper through lower rates.
- Support public funding.
- Protect people from unfair energy costs.

Europe’s energy future depends on bold action - not just words.
