Depressingly likely. Yes, being “serious people” and “grown-ups” will always be welcome, but there does seem to be a lack of any political instinct at the moment. And some things should be so obvious as to be a dividing line between people whose votes I want, and people whose votes I don’t.

Which is all great, until they form some sort of (post?-) electoral pact with Reform and the policy platform ends up being a little different to what those who stopped paying attention when Boris got removed expected. And while the face-eating leopards meme is amusing, it should still be avoided.

I’ve long thought we need a well-funded specialist mental health emergency service, so that those in need get expert help quickly, and the rest of the police (in particular) and the ambulance service can concentrate on crime/ heart attacks, road accidents etc.

Young at Heart - The Bluebells
Just hate everything about it, shite lyrics, awful hoe-down style tune and the dickhead next door when I lived in Norwich who would come home drunk, put it on at high volume on repeat and fall asleep.

I was living in Strasbourg at the time, the Irish pub I drank in had White Ladder as the first CD on the music box. I still can’t hear anything off it without being transported 600 miles and 25 years

The Spectrum my parents got me as an unexpected Christmas present (i didn’t ask for it, Dad was obviously getting annoyed at me asking to use his computer all the time) is the best materialistic present I ever got. Would cheerfully do the same for my kids, however overpriced it may objectively seem

As a Booths-lander exiled to Waitrose land, I’d say look at the Waitrose figures, but make them more how you’d like them.

I think Brady scotched that, he was holding 10 (or so) letters when the election was called according to his memoirs.

I want to read that book so much. I’d be fascinated to learn what he was trying to do and why he thought it would work throughout his Premiership and the election campaign.
