People who believe conspiracy theories are usually *hyper-literate* - that’s part of the problem: 1) when they consume bad information, they consume it in vast amounts, 2) they’ve a precarious sense of status (usually, haven’t succeeded as expected to) & seek out “conspiracies” to feel superior.
This is my brother, and he's so convincing. He's super smart - won a scholarship to the LSE smart. Doesn't trust 'legacy' media, believes in deep state interference in everything. It scares me because if someone like him believes disinfo is fact, a lot of us don't have a chance determining truth.
