Expanded details of the 200 movies
re-releases: 30 total, 10 my 1st time, 3 really my 1st full time, the others all seen before.
Mystery Movies: Only 3 this year mainly because AMC adding a 4th slot reduced depending on the discount Monday mystery.
Oscar Specific Catchup: 2 movies & 10 shorts
This will be my 2025 thread of movies seen at the movie theater. I had a goal of 100 unique films for 2024 and got there in July & ended with 180 unique. For ‘25 I am not going to have a goal I want to reach, instead I will just see where I end up at.

The best marketing for the 2020 film Greenland is the trailer released 6 years later for Greenland 2.

I’m going to do 2 different 10 ten lists of movies I watched in 2025. “Best” vs “Enjoyment” and if a film technically overlaps it will only shown up in one of the lists.

Well thanks to rewatching the Mission Impossible series ahead of Finale Reckoning & watching all of Wallace & Gromit that’s how I got my most watched Actor and Director.
I’m guessing Actor may take into account the billing because there was a tie, not sure what the director tie breaker would be.

I don’t think for 2026 I’m gonna keep a running list of movies next year, I may do recaps after each month but I’ll keep updating my Letterboxd after each movie if you want to check that out.

💯X 2.

So after deciding to not have a goal at the start of the year and maybe even cut down a bit from 2024 here I am at 200 unique movies, partly because I saw it as a possibility come November (much like when I saw a slight possibility I could get to 100 2 years ago).

Thoughts on the movie 👇
200th movie: #Anaconda 2025

Well I liked it, but now I’m wondering if I should also see if I can see the documentary this is sort of based on.

This may or may not be the case but having now seen Marty Supreme after The Smashing Machine earlier this year I feel like I know which Safdie brother made me feel like I did while watching Uncut Gems. Marty Supreme will fall in the same category of really good but I don’t need to see it again for

The movie itself is alright and honestly a bit better than the attempts made when I was younger so 🤷‍♂️. But seriously I’m not sure how many people redeemed free tickets (I did which is why I went) but the one more “disruptive” crowds one older couple example the text on the screen and not very quietly

Other than being considered for best foreign language film for the upcoming Oscar season from Brazil, I really didn’t know much. I guess I assumed that perhaps some espionage related stuff but the time period political thriller it actually ended up being was great.

I grew tired of the trailer for this awhile ago and wasn’t sure if I would even check it out. Well I did and it was not as bad as I expected from the trailer. Seems like all of the people who were there that read the book liked it for the most part.

So 1st up the TMNT short: this was why I ended up wanting to see the new SpongeBob because it was going to play in front of it. It was cute and like 5 minutes or so.

Next SpongeBob: I honestly don’t remember the last time I saw an episode somewhere between 10-15 years I think.
191st movie: #TheSpongeBobMovie:SearchforSquarePants

Also included the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Chrome Alone 2- Lost in New Jersey short in front of it

Straight up all of the Christmas re-releases, which have been some 1st timers for me, was to help get to 200 unique movies this year, & so was this, after seeing fairly positive critic and audience reviews. I haven’t seen the original but I was kinda surprised that I kinda really liked it myself 😆.
December 18, 2025 at 4:25 AM
This was my first time seeing this movie, so I was not really sure if I’d like it or not. Overall it was alright but that very well could have been impacted by feeling like I was close to falling asleep but the last third or so with how late it was.
189th movie: #SenseAndSensibility 30th anniversary release

I’m not sure I’ve ever actually seen prior to this showing the full movie from beginning to end. It’s one of my dad’s favorites so it’s been on a lot when I’m home for Christmas but yeah I think it’s always been piece meal over the years.
December 16, 2025 at 7:01 PM
So this was how I found out I’ve never actually had seen the whole movie before, only like the last ~third or so and even then really what I recall is the premise because of how much it’s been referenced/parodied over the years and the actual final scene.

Outside of animated movies I don’t have too much experience with films made prior to the mid ‘70’s I think so it’s always kind of weird to see how different things were, both good & bad. I honestly would have assumed the song came out around the movie and not a decade+ before.

I have learned two things from this, the first is that apparently there is going to be an actual movie adaptation in the future, which apparently started filming in 2019 and will film bits and pieces over like 20 years so the movie won’t actually come out until like 2040.

Ok so still sorta spoilers but now that it’s out on Netflix and certain accounts are outright mentioning stuff, but seeing Cubs baseball grabbed my attention. I haven’t re-watched yet but at first I thought one of the earlier games was a Cubs/Mets game because of where the movie was set but
I will hold off on what it was for now and will follow up on this before the new year just to give it some time.
December 14, 2025 at 6:33 PM
Ok so I’m not totally sure this deserves the R it is rated especially because it’s going to limit the audience but honestly I loved this and I don’t normally really care think about styling and wardrobe in a movie but Mads and especially if the kid stood out every outfit change they had.
