Well, really all the comic depicts is that the character in the dress thinks negatively on the art, for all we know she could be the antagonist of the comic and is meant to be seen in an unsympathetic light.

Nah just messing with ya, just having fun with the arguing

Ah, didn't realize there were other threads, kind of the first time ever using this app, seeing as I never got around to twitter.

If it's the former, then you saying "it's been done before a million times before" is the harshest criticism here. Saying that its 'vapid' or whatever is subjective but saying its overdone has more of an objective quality. "These people did it before you and so your rendition is less valuable"

Besides, are you defending the art, or are you defending the act of hanging on a wire from the rope and spraying paint on a canvas as a fun activity? Because those are two very different things.

Is it directed at a specific person? I've seen similar art for many years, wasn't aware that there was a new person that gained a lot of traction recently.

Once again tho, saying you don't like the art is very different that attacking the person making it, or even saying that they shouldn't do it

All they said was that performance art (as any art) CAN suck, which someone was interpreted as "This literal individual is a bad person for making art, *insert more directed personal insults and attacks here*"
November 30, 2024 at 4:45 AM
That is not true, they didn't first assert that, the first mention of being 'constructive' was you, and there was nothing about the 'right to constructive criticism' or even that their criticism (which they never actually even provided seeing as THIS paint can art isnt real) was constructive or not.

Not all art will be liked by everyone.
All art will be disliked by someone.
You can tell people that you don't like their art.
You cannot go and harass or abuse or bully people and make direct personal attacks at their person for their art.

Where was the last one done in this thread?
November 30, 2024 at 4:30 AM
Yes, but my point was exactly that, this is not a literal instance of a paint can artists, and so conversing as if it were one (instead of talking about the actual population of artists) does not help the point the person was trying to make.

Pain can men exists, THIS paint can man does not.
November 30, 2024 at 4:19 AM
This paint can man is not real, so not really 'going after' anyone, is it? Besides, (and this is independent of paint cans or whatever) just because something is art doesn't mean it has to be supported, or even be considered good or valuable, just because it exists.

Thank you! Always did seem like fun, just never got the hang of it.
