No, no, that's a myth. The catholic church has been officially fine with evolution since 1950! They just say that there was definitely totally a single Adam and Eve who were the only people in Earth and then gave birth to all humans everywhere (cuz of that original sin thing)

The Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province, Sovereign of the State of Vatican City, Servant of the Servants of God has multiple identities? Hmm, maybe

They're both forms of believing that the point of art is to be tailored to the tastes of a fictional "average viewer"? There's an implication that viewing art sets up an obligation for the artist to have made something you will like, rather than it being a choice freely made with no such promise.

Absolutely horrifying. Not to say that all the other aspects are not bad, but the revenge porn and CSAM part of it alone is enough to make AI image generation an evil thing.

My experience too. A couple screwups, a couple awkward bits, but mostly everyone's just fine with it. And it was such a relief not to be carrying around two names anymore.

Thanks for sharing. Hadn't formalized my list, but I'm pretty sure they were on my fuzzy maybe zone, but no longer.

Really hoping you have better luck with the new place! 🙏

A friend posted this the other day. Sometimes it can't even get to 1+1=1+1.

Is this one suitable? I think they might only make the non-ambidexterous version now, but there are some of these floating around ebay and such used.

Yeah, i get that. I'd hate it for the same reason on an anime or longer Youtube videos. I'm probably just making a personal exception for little clips because I sort of hate watching them already, so what's one more small aspect to dislike.

Plus some extra rules about firing government employees and a pinky-promise there will be a vote on the ACA subsidies in a month, and yeah, basically.

Being able to "hear" the rhythm of the speech even when muted is an actual advantage of that. Prevents reading the caption and then having to wait a second for the speaker to catch up. A bit brain-rotting, but more just emphasizing the already huge difference in that for short-form video vs. text.

And not even staff admin or senior doctor break-glass override, but VENDOR correction? I keep wanting to think there must be something this story that's missing, because this is a few steps beyond what my already-terrible view of healthcare IT would expect to be possible.

Yes! And don't get me started on the tax-deductiblity of the interest. A giveaway to people rich and stable enough to both itemize deductions and commit to living in the same place for decades that does absolutely nothing to make mortgages better for the average person.

Oh yeah totally. Anyone doing a variation of "LLMs will sabotage the pure and unimpeachable judgement of doctors" doesn't know what they're talking about.
