Any director crazy enough to put Krypto in a "serious" superhero movie, and somehow convince Hollywood executives that it's a good idea? I have to give this man his proper respect.

Fluffy J Tankiller, this cute little cat/predator, is from a recruitment poster for the U.S. Tank Corps. This kitten should be let loose on the public again, 100+ years later. He's adorable in his unhinged aggression.

The cover of Exciting Comics issue 9, first appearance of The Black Terror and his kid sidekick, The Ginger Terror? Kid sidekicks didn't tend to get cool names in 1941, he's just Tim.

Do people remember Frank Frazetta? A very popular fantasy artist who did book covers, album covers, as well as a few movie posters.
If you read an old school Conan novel it was probably his artwork on the cover.

Aw yeah, Rom Spacekight! A toy so cool that even jaded Star Wars kids liked it. Well, not really. Rom became the cult B-movie of toys over the years. The most successful facet of Rom was the 6 year 79 issue run from Marvel, from 1979 to 1986. #art #toys #retrotoys #vintagetoys #RomSpaceknight #comic

The cover of Planet Comics #9 from 1940, with characters like Flint Baker, The Red Comet, and Spurt Hammond... Spurt? Really? You have Sci-Fi vehicles coming up out of the ground that look like... well, you know what these mole men vehicles look like. WTH was going on in 1940? #art #comicart #funny

The cover of Amazing Adventures issue 2 from 1950. A great atmospheric cover, a good font, Allen Anderson a good artist and it tells a bit of a story. It also reminds you of the pulp covers of the 30s.

Not as old as what I usually post, but 41 years old still counts as vintage. The soundtrack album cover to the 1982 movie Liquid Sky. I found going thru my albums for the first time in years. And it's perhaps the most 80s thing I've seen in years.

A cover from Adventures into the Unknown #43, 1953. A supernatural comic, with a sci-fi fantasy landscape, a demon, a dinosaur, a red sky with multiple planets & moons. Just like the character, I don't think the cover artist knew where he was either.

A cool vintage movie poster for the 1973 supernatural horror movie Messiah of Evil. It just drips with early 70s B movie charm and attitude. So does the movie, though it can't quite make up its mind what kind of horror movie it is.
