Makes me wonder if this rug, that my Dad finally gifted to me after years of asking, is Kurdish too?

Good morning out leafleting for @greenparty.org.uk
@mothinali.bsky.social in Gipton and Harehills.
If you're lucky enough to have Mothin as your Councillor, check out the leaflet to see all that he's been up to (my favourite: the community garden, of course!)

Best start to the day; spotted a yellow adult's tricycle with a wicker basket! My dream bike
(Pic found online, trike not actually photographed) #BikeSky

When being single gets annoying; an un-openable pickle jar taunting me

(Fortunately daughter showed me a new opening technique that worked!)

The squirrels and jays in the local park are not managing to keep up with the sweet chestnut trees. So I've helped myself to a few.
Just got to decide on a recipe now

I'm so lucky to be able to wander into the greenhouse and pick 4 types of tomatoes and be eating them minutes later for lunch

(Mind you, getting there was challenging as I had to duck under ridiculous numbers of the most beautiful spiderwebs - lot of the stripey legged spiders this year!)🌱

Birthday 'cake' prep is underway.
My plan this year is not to have it just for breakfast, but at every single meal (and probably snack on it in between too)

My daughter pointed out that this nail varnish I bought in New York in 2004 that she's borrowing is old enough to legally buy a drink

Spotted my first skein of geese this autumn

Thank you to whoever did this to counter the racist graffiti in the bus stop

What's worse than having paedophile Epstein's mate President Trump come for a state visit?

Dogwalk.
The blackberries are not massive, but the air is thick with the scent of them. Wonderful!

There should be a warning label on these plants when you buy them; they move!

My daughter thought I was going mad when I told her I'd seen it moving and photographed its leaves in different positions

Now I find out its a known thing with this plant (Maranta fascinator - the Prayer Plant)

Office for the day

I'm on leave and writing up final part of coursework for submission on Monday, so why not make the most of the sunny weather

Help! I'm currently cutting my lawn by hand because there are so many baby #frogs. Long term I need an alternative to a lawn that is friendly to #wildlife, the dogs and me. Anyone got any suggestions for ground cover in a smallish garden? (Some grass =left long but becomes a soggy raft by autumn)

Interesting that the only ppl I saw having a problem with our march for Palestine today was a drunk woman and some street preachers

Today's the start of the #BigButterflyCount; anyone can take part.
My 1st count was just Whites and a Gatekeeper, but I've seen Peacocks, Speckled Woods, Commas and Red Admirals in the garden this summer (and my favourite mint moths too)

A story in two parts
( #Frog was spotted in high traffic part of the lawn about to be stood on by a very excited dog, moved to safer, long grass out of the way) #UKWildlife #pond

I think we have a sock problem

Disclaimer; these are not mine, these are from daughter's room. These are the single socks left after I paired many.
Now to hunt the remaining singles down...
