Chapel Rock is made up of weathered Munising Sandstone. These sediments were deposited in a shoreline environment in the mid to late Cambrian Period, about 487-520 million years ago. It can be reached by hiking the six mile Chapel Loop Trail. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Michigan, 24 May 2012.
