Honestly, I can't decide if this would be better or worse. If he dies, we'd be stuck with JD and I think he's even more dangerous (if that's even possible).

Agreed. I think they are keeping JD on the down low, so that when they oust The Awful One, they'll think we have forgotten how horrible he is and welcome him as a more "reasonable" republican.
