Yes, it was written in AMOS.
Just a simple word parser, where you wrote a sentence, it stored each word with a reference to which words came before and after and if it started or ended a sentence.
Then NIALL would write something random back, only using the words and rules it had stored.

Thanks man! I did not know about abebooks. I just ordered 19 books from there - all Terry Pratchett, all from Doubleday, not all Discworld. :)

I have so far only read Seveneves, but I do plan to read some more.
