I watch the movies and sometimes talk about them
I’m Still Here is a powerhouse of a film. Subtle in its execution, yet deeply tense and moving. Hit me in a way no other best picture nominee has this year, and a lot of that is owed to Fernanda Torres’s performance. A truly incredible film

Not kidding when I say HERE is Robert Zemeckis’s best film in years. Surprisingly moving and heartfelt in ways I wasn’t expecting. Truly the work of a great storyteller, even if he refuses to tone down the unnecessary CGI.

A little late but, these are my favorite films of 2024

A Complete Unknown is a fantastic acting showcase for Timothée Chalamet, who completely transforms into the renowned musician. If only the film’s characters weren’t as mysterious as the title

Nosferatu is a gorgeous and grotesque nightmare of a film, the likes of which only Robert Egger’s can achieve. Bill Skarsgard is unrecognizable and imposing as Orlok but Lily Rose Depp gives an unbelievable performance. My favorite film of 2024.

Watched Maria and I think we should just give Angelina Jolie the best actress Oscar. No need to have any other nominees

Carried by its top notch performances and striking music number. Emilia Pérez is a wildly ambitious film, that unfortunately is held back by its unengaging story that can’t keep up with the film’s rhythm.

GLADIATOR 2 is the kind of epic spectacle only someone like Ridley Scott can deliver. It doesn’t come close to being as good as the first, but it’s some of the most fun I’ve had at the movies all year

BLITZ has an interesting enough premise and good performances. But the film quickly loses focus and spends most of the runtime aimlessly wandering in search of a story to tell.

There’s a lot to like about Wicked. Cynthia Evrio and Ariana Grande are great, the music is obviously great, the sets and costumes are great. The story however suffers, largely from it being split into two films. Causing the film to severely drag at times.

The Substance is phenomenal. A visceral depiction of how we view ourselves, our perception of age, and the fear of not being good enough. All packaged in a gruesome (and often hilarious) body horror film. One of the best of the year.

A Real Pain is fantastic. A deep exploration of grief and how people wrestle with their own emotions. One of the most beautiful films of the year and an Oscar worthy performance from Kieran Culkin
