Young enough to be all pissed off, old enough to be jaded.

Sounds about right.

You can appreciate what a piss off that is for the average Kiwi - we keep all the pollution and still pay the same amount as you do, despite your product being shipped over 12,500km.

And don't get me started on lamb!

Somehow olive oil based spread made from imported olives costs less than butter made from local cows.

I guess cows do require more a whole lot more attention and effort.

It gets worse because the Governor of Colarado, where the school shooting took place has ordered that flags be at half mast…

… for the other shooting.

Assuming an 800m radius around each station, that's a lot of potential 10 - 15 storey buildings.

Might need a few more schools, water mains, sewerage pipes, etc, etc...

Not overly surprised if it doesn't include the leafier suburbs north of the motorway.

It might help you to hear that this appears to be common in people who create stuff:

And so are any voters voting for it…

Stuff seems to be saying that we're all akshully winners.

I'm not sure how a $260 tax increase (sorry $10 a fortnight tax increase) counts as 'winning' for most people because that seems bad to me.

A lot of these vibes in the commentary:

The ratio!

I see the MP for Papakura has time in her busy day to... troll LinkedIn commentators 🙄

Gives me Event Horizon vibes.

I’m no big time political expert but running a guy who was an unpopular Labour leader in a seat where there is an incumbent Green Party mayor feels like it might backfire.

But what do I know, vote splitting was clearly a winning strategy in Mt Albert…

I’d be keen to understand how people used to be forced to have a mortgage where the entire lending was locked into a rate 4% over the highest ever floating rate for, apparently, the entire length of the loan.

It’s summer here and it was a beauty day:

That’s… a good answer.

I’m just too jaded to think it’ll make a difference. I mean look at the 2026 midterms for the senate. Dems need to pick up 6 of these seats to have a majority that doesn’t require the independents.

I dunno… Tony and the regular herald letter writers reckon we’ve gone soft and parents should pay for lunches (so we can give more tax cuts to landlords, probably)

"Super is Welfare" is going to go over about as well as that time your man said "Be kind to each other"
February 11, 2025 at 4:26 AM
I'm a bit nimby on this one... The level crossing for the train already creates traffic chaos without 246 new homes and I doubt this government will fund new infrastructure and schooling. Oh and it's a flood plain.

But I have faith that Simplicity aren't idiots and will have solved for all of that.

Based on the turn out for the last election, I think the answer is "Millenials, particularly those born 1980 - 1998".
