That’s one less thing he’s got to apologize to his wife for. Good for him.

Something tells me the ranks of Reform UK may be soon getting reinforced with a big new name.

If Maduro finds enough flexibility in his corroded regime (not to mention his brain), he could give Trump what he wants (oil contracts, Trump Hotel Caracas, etc.) and I bet you Trump would drop Machado (the upstart woman who stole his Nobel prize) quicker than you can eat an empanada. (2/2)

For sure. Not saying it's like the Ukrainians welcoming the Wehrmacht with flowers in 1941, but I just hope it's not another Ann Sung Sus Kyi in the making. It's not necessary to make common cause with criminals just because it's the most convenient route to power.

"When the govt has to subsidize a program, that means it's not working." Wow, didn't expect Buddy to argue for "defundind the police" but that seems to be where his brain has taken him.

Also, what hell is an idea machine? Ideas come from people doing thinking, not from machines faking it.

Whatever political or economic problems there may be with the country, the root cause of it all is moral. Exhibit #23,241.

Really hope he finally does that. He needs to call Putin’s bluff.

"Won't give a dime to Ukraine. Also, we will ask for money from the EU. You know, cause, solidarity." The politics for the heartless and self-righteous.

The reality is that we've actually made a ton of money as a country by supporting Ukraine. But xenophobia is a powerful drug, I guess.

Unlike all the previous presidents who never shook any hands with anyone.

When Trump starts to lose support, his instincts are never conciliatory. He won’t try to win back the voters he’s lost. He’ll double down on his worst impulses. And this is just an early sign. It will get worse.

That’s before a Russian influence operation and an openly racist campaign by Reform UK, though.

Been reading this just now and even though I knew that imperialist regimes always recycle same old justifications, it still struck me that even in the case of Finland, as plain an aggression as there could be, they still used the same arguments as they're using now in Ukraine, verbatim.

Funny how three years of no diplomatic efforts and one year of Trump’s diplomacy appear to have exactly the same effect. It’s almost as if “all wars end with negotiations” were just a bit of fatuous sophistry designed to force Ukraine into surrender…

Jeffrey Epstein was a stain on humanity when he lived and he deserved to remain alive in prison for a very long time to suffer for his crimes, but... I do love his posthumous work.

Gun-boat diplomacy for the 21st century. They got the boats, we gun them down… what a way to deter China. “Look, we’re launching missiles against drowning fishermen. We’re warriors now!”
