Have you seen Tim's Vermeer (documentary)? I'm only casually interested in art but found the concepts and execution fascinating.

FWIW, I've decided to inquire with the publisher about the humans and technology involved in producing the book. It's really lovely and I'd love to acquire one, given I don't feel the ethics are dodgy.

God said that on the day they ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil they would surely die: They did not. The serpent told them that what God was afraid of was man gaining knowledge like God, and after they ate the fruit, that *was* God's reaction. Gotta keep away from the Tree of Life now!

I've wondered how many more storytellers we would've had if TTRPGs weren't demonized during the Satanic Panic. A good D&D campaign teaches Dungeon Masters about hooks, plotting, worldbuilding, creating fun characters with their distinct motivations and quirks, etc.

Ahh. Good catch!

Probably irrelevant note: I can't access this page from my work's internet, but when I switch to my hotspot I can. I think this means the page is hosted in one of the countries that my office blocks for security reasons, which is mostly former Soviet members, North Korea, and Iran, I think.

Maybe some helpful context: the 2 Billion was the value of the potential annuity over 30 years. The one time payout was closer to 1 Billion, so the taxation was closer to 40% than 70%.

Not to be a complete pedant, but ... I don't think Iceland is its own continent, so Antarctica would've already been the only continent without mosquitoes. Am I missing something?

She definitely tried; I didn't retract the compliment or anything.

The last time I went in to get blood drawn, my phlebotomist put the needle in swiftly and damn near painlessly and I said "Amazing job slash jab!" She thanked me, then said "Uh oh. I have to reposition."

The next minute of my life was not great.

New Mexico used to be number four, but it's moved to number five. I suspect it will keep moving in the right direction as long as the changes they've made to start lifting more people out of poverty continue.

Thank you. I really prefer it when we act with accountability to the truth.

It's still bad, but let's address the reality, not the hyperbole.
