IJII is claiming authority as successor to IJI. IDK but someone’s the successor. It’s not sua sponte or (as noted) scrivener’s. The order says DOJ notified IJII of “error” on 12/11. That is an ex parte motion to amend. If Taylor is IJII, he can hear it w/notice but claiming sua sponte is corrupt.

A. I agree Dems need to campaign against the court.
B. Biden/Breyer were wrong. It isn’t Dems responsibility to maintain the court’s reputation.
C. I assume Josh means do it with a simple majority. Obviously, that will change the future of the nation but I think it’s probably worth it.

Is it even fair to call it a split? They all agree you can’t levy taxes for any reason, which eliminates any health care solutions, save for something like HSAs, which I imagine they all support.

I don’t disagree that they love to troll and fly their freak flags. But, unlike a Fox viewer, their information environment includes dissents from actual justices dissecting and, largely, eviscerating their reasoning.
My point being, they are deliberately dismantling everything and fully aware.

The thing is, the Comey/James cases would have continued to embarrass Bondi/DOJ. Having them end quickly and for the same reason as Trump’s FL case is the best case from DOJ’s perspective. I don’t believe they failed to anticipate this problem. They wanted the cases to die.

I think it’s more layered than you’re anticipating. Bondi has a deadline to disclose anything withheld from release and the reason. The House can issue subpoenas around that to monitor.
It could fall apart. The ultimate remedy is probably impeachment of Bondi or Trump rather than direct suit..

Something to remember is these agents will have to testify at trial for these kinds of cases, which will be extremely inconvenient since they’re not local. Their identities will be exposed and they won’t be allowed to wear masks.
