You can do a lot with $50,000, should you happen to have it.

Or, you could bid on a 24-pack of Hershey's Cherry Blossom chocolates on eBay, where a seller from Oakville, Ont., is currently selling the discontinued candy for $48,300.
Canada's divisive 'weird' chocolate, the Cherry Blossom, now worth its weight in gold | CBC News
While many Canadians have had a love-hate relationship with the treat, now that they're nearly gone, what's left appears to be in high demand. And resellers are looking to cash in.

To clean under my windshield wipers I have to start the car, turn it off and hold down the wiper lever so they rise to the top position. I can't lift them when they're in the rest position because they hit the hood. This is Canada. I don't envision any problem with this in the winter (sarcasm)

Going thru photos that I got after my cousin died, who in turn got them from my aunt who died in 1986. I recognized some, but she never labelled them so I'm in the dark for a lot. Then I spotted one of a child, maybe a year or so old. It's me. My mom had the same pic and I never spotted it before

I use a fan to circulate the AC in my apt. I've had it about 6 years and it's starting to rattle. Can't take it apart, naturally, so I went on the hunt for a new one. Found what I wanted on Amazon - $167! Got it at Canadian Tire for $114. The price still shocked me, but not as badly

Ran out first thing this morn to pick up some croissants. Then I got distracted. I bought tissues, dish soap, shaving cream, a couple of frozen entrées for a quick lunch. All on sale. And I came home without the bloody croissants.

So the criminal Trump thinks Canadians are nasty. The best example of the pot calling the kettle black

I drink 4 cups of coffee (incl 1 decaf) a day. Keurig pods will cost abt $85 a mo. That’s crazy. I’ve switched to ground, in my own filter, at the strength I want. I can get great, better-tasting, made in Canada coffee for about $22 for 454g (1 lb), and that lasts almost 28 days.

Looked at something on Amazon for $65. Got it at Canadian Tire for $44. That's twice recently that I've found materially better prices than Amazon

Canada has this weird relationship with the metric system. We use Celsius, litres. kilometres and kilograms. But a lot of people will give you their personal height and weight in feet/inches and lbs. And I just bought a quart of strawberries this morning.

Looking at something on Amazon that was CA$43, plus CA$27 delivery. No way. Went to the manufacturer's site and got it for CA$43, free delivery. Pays to check.

‪Tumblr has terminated my account again. I don't know WTF is wrong. I don't post nudity there, except the odd innocuous art, and it's all labelled. It's always based on a user complaint, which they don't seem to investigate before terminating. Their support is useless as tits on a bull.

I signed the lease for my new car in early April, knowing it wouldn't come in until May, but it's been a hell of a long 3 weeks, and it'll probably be another 2. Turns out I'm an impatient old fart.

Ordered something yesterday with a delivery date of May 9. Not ideal, but it's not something critical. Turns out it'll arrive today. Gotta charge my screwdriver.

Spring cleaning. My apt's fairly small, but everything, including the walls, is covered in white dust from the humidifier I foolishly bought, and have now junked. Going to take a few days because my back is acting up, and moving furniture doesn't help it.

I voted by mail, but it turns out I could have voted at a poll that will be in the lobby of the apt building for a few hours a day or so before the election 🇨🇦

You know you don't have much going on when you're reading the owner's manual and looking at instruction vids for a car you haven't got yet

Last month, I turned 80. Yes, I actually am (a bit) older than the Boomers. Today, I signed a 5-year lease on a new car. As my mother used to say, "Live in hope ..."

2 weeks into the federal election campaign, and the Liberals have strengthened their lead. Aggregate polls show them well into majority territory - mid 190 seats. NDP has hit bottom, but the Conservatives must be wondering WTF happened to their 220 (now 120's) seat projection in Jan

Finally took my seniors' drivers test (was sick for the original date). Pretty simple - vision and peripheral vision test, then draw a clock, and set time to 10 past 11. Apparently that's a test for dementia. I passed. Yay!
