Also, when I lived in Taiwan back in the 'oughts we were always aware of the fact that Chinese warheads were pointed at us. But the idea was that America would hold them at bay. That is not to be counted on now. No matter how many good Americans are around, they still let an idiot be president.

Taiwan's still coming to grips with the last mainland Chinese invasion back in the 1940s, which was propped up my America. Huge blackout on the history of the Chiang Kai Shek years, with recognition of the torture and murder committed by the regime only veeeery slowly coming through.

Right up until the bit where they invade Taiwan because America is weak and owned by Russians now. Also the way China is building up new bases through the Pacific? That's a bit beyond sabre rattling.

China IS that stupid. It's putting warships in the Tasman sea for live fire operations and not alerting Australian and NZ governments, putting passenger aircraft in danger. Now NZ is calling for greater spending on defence when we've got hungry kids to feed. Thanks a fucking lot, China.
