🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland should be an independent democratic country, ruled according to the will of the Scottish people, not by Westminster. Also on Substack: https://pontifex.substack.com/
It's because Starmer wishes to govern in the passive voice (even if that's impossible). jamesbreckwoldt.substack.com/p/you-cant-g...

A British nationalist, of course. Someone who wants Scotland to be forced to remain in UK irrespective of whether Scots want it.

You're a Britnat, lol

Google AI disagrees with you. But please don't let facts get in the way of your prejudices.

It's not about "capitulating to their opponent's worldview", it's about doing what the voters want, which is the whole point of democracy. Most voters want immigration reduced.

Starmer is likely to give in to Trump, as he is a coward with no backbone.
November 17, 2025 at 3:28 PM
If it wasn't for the broad shoulders of Westminster, Scotland could be as poor as Norway!
November 17, 2025 at 1:58 PM
Reform are not in charge, they only have 5 MPs. Labour have >400 MPs.
November 17, 2025 at 1:55 PM
It's absurd, and tantamount to treason, that UK's most secret data is being stored with foreign tech firms.

Examples of noun phrases would include "the best sport on earth" or "a rabid dog".
November 17, 2025 at 1:19 PM
But they aren't noun phrases, they're sentences.

Would you rather Farage was in charge? Because that's the alternative.

Labour's promise to cut bills was a lie. They never intended to keep it. pontifex.substack.com/p/labour-pro...

Scotland should have a Scottish National Broadcaster, whose board is democratically elected by the Scottish people. pontifex.substack.com/p/a-scottish...

Can Scotland do better than the BBC?

If Labour do badly next May, it is likely Starmer will be out.
November 12, 2025 at 6:03 AM
Starmer won't because (1) it's the obvious right thing to do, and (2) he hates democracy and the people and PR is too democratic for him.
November 12, 2025 at 6:02 AM
Can they buy 6 cans for a dollar?
November 12, 2025 at 5:53 AM
Because, according to the BBC, everything about Scotland is crap, and would only get worse if it wasn't for the broad shoulders of the Westminster entity holding us up. Just think -- it is wasn't for WM, Scotland could be as poor as Norway!

In other words, "far right" and "far left" mean how far to the right or left of the center of public opinion a party's supporters are.
November 3, 2025 at 9:56 AM
Assume public opinion varies along one dimension. Then the higher vote share a party gets, the harder it is for their median voter to be far from the center of public opinion.
